Recently, one of the most popular techniques for modelling the look has become the arrow. This modelling allows you to achieve an incredibly beautiful look and forget about eyeliner and additional eye make-up for a long time!
The effect of eyelash extensions like arrow is a sharp transition of the length of artificial eyelashes: from short too long. The arrow will look really spectacular in the volume extension from 2D, with the classic will be invisible.
The first thing that every professional lashmaker should do is to determine the type of the client's eyes and assess the condition of the eyelashes.
● In the outer corner, the condition of the lashes is poor, sparse or with gaps. A distinct, pronounced arrow will not be achieved.
● Eyes are slanted and the outer corners look upwards. In this case, an arrow made according to the scheme like Fox Effect will work perfectly, slightly lowering the corners of the eyes, which will visually bring them closer to the ideal almond shape.
● The outer corners of the eye are lowered and a bright arrow will aggravate the situation. BUT! If the artist performs the extension according to the scheme like Squirrel Effect, a wonderful transformation will take place. The eyes will be visually corrected, the corners of the eyes will be raised and the arrow in this effect will become harmonious.
● Rising eyes. In the extension should be used gentle lengths. The Lovely L curve eyelash palette is perfect.
● Downward falling eyes. The most important thing is not to make the situation any worse. Mark the point of recession and make sure that the maximum length of artificial eyelashes does not go beyond this border. If the client's natural eyelashes grow downwards, it will be necessary to go to very short lengths when extending.
● Round eyes. Curved curls will not work, choose a gentle curl.
● Small and squinty eyes, use Lovely lashes with an L+ curl.
The most beautiful arrow is obtained on large almond-shaped and slanted eyes. For almond-shaped eyes it is the easiest to find a beautiful arrow. You can work in absolutely any scheme.
Before you start extensions in the arrow effect, you should be sure that your technical skills are fully developed: beams, working with rows, direction!
Let's consider the schemes of fox and squirrel effect for the arrow.
Let's take 8 lengths: from 5 to 12mm. Mark the points when the eye is open: at the beginning of the iris at point 1 and at the end at point 2. From the inner corner of the eye to point 1, we will use the shortest lengths: 5, 6 and 7mm. From point 1 to point 2, extend the length 8mm. From point 2 to the inner corner, we divide the section into 4 lengths: 9, 10, 11 and 12mm. Do not forget that the effect should end in a length as close as possible to the natural lash.
Now let's consider modelling the arrow effect using the squirrel pattern.
Mark the beginning of the iris with points at point 1 and the end with point 2. Be careful: from point 2 it is necessary to indent 3-4 mm and put point 3. From the inner corner to the point 1 it is necessary to distribute zones with lengths: 5, 6, 7, and 8 mm. From point 1 to point 2 continue the length of 8 mm. From point 2 to 3 extend the lengths: 9, 10, 11, and 12mm. Then, up to the outer corner, increase the lengths by decreasing the lengths: 11, 10, 9, 8 and 7mm.
You can enhance the effect of the arrow by twisting it. Curls open up and spread out the look, while gentle curls work on the contrary to lengthen it. For example, B and C curls, and L or M for brightness.
It is not enough for a professional to know the squirrel and fox modelling scheme. It is always necessary to enhance the effect of the arrow by using different lengths. A clear graphic arrow is obtained by using short lengths of artificial eyelashes.
We have collected for you a number of practical tips from trainers-technologists of Lovely International Beauty Academy to make your arrow always perfect. Remember that the curls of artificial eyelashes can be different from one manufacturer to another. We are looking at extensions on Lovely lashes.
· In extensions we use volume from 2D, taking into account the length and condition of the native eyelashes. The more volume you will do, the brighter and clearer the arrow will be.
· To achieve a pronounced arrow, it is necessary to perform 100% fill in extensions. If the eyelashes are not enough, it will not be possible to create a clear line.
· It is better to use a combined scheme of direction: from the middle of the eye, we set the eyelashes slope to the temple.
· Take into account the technical points in the formation of beams. The tips of the eyelashes in the beam should be on the same line, and the opening of no more than 2mm for 2D.
· If the direction of your eyelashes is not stable, the eyelashes will look unkempt, a beautiful arrow will not turn out.
· If at the end of the extension procedure, some eyelashes stick out, there is like a step, then also no arrow is out of the question.
· Carefully work with the rows: on the bottom put the eyelashes of the main length, on the middle row less by 1mm and on the top even less, also by 1mm.
And a few words about the colour of eyelashes. The arrow will be very effective if you use not only black or brown eyelashes, but also coloured ones. They can and should be used at the end of the arrow. So, you can set accents or make the colour of the client's eyes much brighter, deeper.
You can "play" with the shades of eyelashes and create a truly creative extension. Lovely coloured eyelash palettes are ideal for this.
